About Us

Semi-independent supported living providers

Who We Are

We are a small family run business with a background in Social Work, Education and Residential Supported Living. We set up Salvus Support as we noticed some gaps in the current services being provided and we knew that we had the expertise and knowledge to successfully create the best possible environment for the young people we work with.

We promote a secure and loving environment in all of our young people’s homes whether semi-independent or supported housing. Every young person placed with Salvus Support is provided with an individual, tailored care package, with their own keyworkers to meet their needs. Young people also have a significant influence on their care plan and determining its priorities.

We work collaboratively with the young person and the local authority to deliver the best possible outcomes.

The team is highly qualified to manage different behaviours including autism attachment disorders, autism spectrum disorder, eating disorders offensive behaviour, anger-management, ADHD and self-harm.

The Salvus Support team works closely with each young person to ensure optimal progress that leads to a positive and lasting outcome. Where necessary, we also provide therapy by a trusted, external resource and this is part of each young person’s care package, if applicable.

We care for young people who:

  • Are victims of trauma
  • Are suffering with low self-esteem/lack of confidence
  • Are emotionally or behaviourally challenged
  • Have sensory impairments
  • Are difficult to place
  • Are Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children
  • Are victims of domestic abuse or violence
  • Are sibling groups
  • Are high risk
  • Are multiple absconders
  • Misuse substances
  • Have mental health issues

What we do

Being the Best at What We Do

We take staff training and development extremely seriously, constantly striving to build on our experience and give young people quality care. We understand how important training is so we heavily invest in all our staff because we are committed to maintaining a competent, skilled and motivated team.

Every month, each member of staff receives one-to-one supervision combined with their own personal development plan which is regularly reviewed. This gives our residents, their families and external carers peace of mind that we are always striving to be the best at what we do.

In-House Training Courses

Training is not just about attending an occasional educational course; it is an integral aspect of Salvus Support. Our senior staff are a role model for less experienced team members and are on-hand to teach, assist and offer guidance wherever possible.

All staff have structured training programmes in place so their objectives are clearly set out from the moment they join the team. Our day courses and workshops provide staff with invaluable knowledge on numerous subjects. These can range from psychological aspects to focussing on preparing the young people for their future, whether they return to their families, enter a different family or choose independent living.

External Training Courses

We also offer courses at local colleges/universities which complement our in-house training. We strongly believe that training is essential to keeping senior staff abreast of new developments in childcare and developing in their field.
